Los Angeles: 'Downton Abbey' alum Michelle Dockery and 'Andor' star Genevieve O’Reilly will feature alongside Emmy winner Jessica Gunning in the upcoming Netflix dark comedy series 'Feral'.

The series, which is an adaptation of Shirley Conran's 1987 novel of the same name, follows four women who are forced to put aside their differences and work together to survive on a deadly tropical island after their husbands, all mining executives, are kidnapped.

Gunning will essay the role of Annie, a dutiful wife who has given up her ambitions to raise four sons under the control of her domineering husband, Duncan, reported Deadline.

The show, created by Jude Mack, has also added actors Quintessa Swindell and Dolly de Leon to its cast.

Dockery will play Julia, with O’Reilly as Silvana, Swindell as Suzy, and De Leon as Elena.

Emma Freeman will direct the series, which will be produced by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Liza Marshall alongside Laurie Borg.

A Golden Globe and four-time Emmy nominee, Dockery is best known for starring in the popular drama 'Downton Abbey' and the associated films. Her credits also include shows like 'Godless', 'Defending Jacob', and 'Anatomy of a Scandal'.

Irish actor O’Reilly is best known for her performances as politician Mon Mothma across multiple Star Wars titles, including the recent Disney+ series 'Andor'. She has also starred in Netflix’s early 20th-century drama 'My Brilliant Career'.
